Todd Miller College Scholarship This scholarship is named after Little Brother Todd Miller who was matched for 10 years with Big Brother Gordon Brown, both deceased. Todd grew up in Springfield, Virginia and graduated from Lake Braddock High School. Todd passed in March 2008 after receiving an injury during a college ruby match at Longwood University, in Virginia. Todd, was 25 years old. His mother, Eleanor Miller wanted to keep his memory alive and thought of starting a Scholarship Fund in Todd's memory. Todd would have graduated in May 2008 with a perfect 4.0 GPA and was honored to be named to the President's List of Outstanding Academic Achievement. In honor of Todd, Longwood University hosts a Todd Miller Rugby Tournament each year, with all the proceeds going towards the Scholarship. Donations have also come from other rugby communities outside of Longwood and from individuals. The scholarship application is due May each year with a decision made in about 30 to 45 days after the deadline. It is a one-year Scholarship up to $4,500. One Little will receive the Scholarship each year. How to Apply For more information or to apply for this scholarship contact Denise Williams at dwilliams@bbbsnca.org or 301-794-9170, ext. 17. |
