Every Big in the Northern Virginia region (Alexandria, Arlington, Fairfax, and Prince William) is a member of the Northern Virginia Council and is always welcome to attend the Council meetings.

All Bigs are welcome to join the council officers and attend regular meetings to “run” the Northern Virginia Council. “Running” the Council essentially means coordinating events--like the whitewater rafting trip--raising money for events, serving as a sounding board for suggestions or critiques from Northern Virginia Bigs, and acting as a conduit for ideas and programs from the National Capital Area Office of Big Brothers Big Sisters.

At our annual picnic, typically in late Sept./early Oct., we confirm officers. Each year we look for a few new faces as some of our offices become vacant. It gives Bigs a great opportunity to get more involved in the organization and contribute to all the Littles in the area through the programs we put on.
