Skateboarders and Rollerbladers If you are looking for a great place to rollerblade or skateboard, you should check out Luckett Skate Park in Alexandria. Its run by the Alexandria Parks Department and open to the public for no charge. They have everything there that a budding skateboarder or a seasoned vet could want. It is a new park, so the equipment is in decent condition. We have been there several times and it has never been too crowded. There are no attendants at the park, but they want you to wear pads and a helmet (not provided). I highly suggest them as well, especially for you Bigs who haven't been on wheels in a while, Littles who have no fear, and anyone else who doesn't want to experience another activity...trip to the local E.R.!!! Directions The park is located off Duke St. (south side) at the Wheeler intersection (3540 Wheeler Ave.). The nearest major cross streets are Duke and Telegraph.
