Smithsonian Museums Recently I took my little, Dominick, to visit two of the Smithsonian Museums; the Museum of Natural History and the Air & Space Museum. Both he and I really enjoyed the exhibits that both museums had to offer. Dominick really appreciated the prehistoric displays of the Natural History Museum. The shear size of the Tyrannosaurus Rex skeleton and the depiction of a primeval battle scene between two ancient creatures really appealed to his sense of excitement. Check out T-Rex Online! Dominick also enjoyed the space-related exhibits at the Air & Space museum. The thought of venturing into outer space is enough to peak anybody’s interest! The Smithsonian Museums are a wonderful place to take your Little because they are fun and engrossing in addition to being educational and informational. The Smithsonian Museums are also free, so with the exception of paying for meals, this experience is relatively inexpensive. Parking can be a challenge, since the Museums are such large tourist attractions, but if you are able to go during the week parking is ample. You can also take the Metro! All Museums are open everyday except Christmas, from 10AM – 5:30PM . Tips To make your visit even more enjoyable, consider reviewing a few things from the Smithsonian websites before you go. For example, there is an area on the Smithsonian website entitled Visitor Information for Kids and Families. For those of you with young Littles, this information offers valuable tips for how to keep them interested given short attention spans of many youngsters. Related Resources T.
