Scrapbook of The 2nd Annual Flag Football Game
The second Big Brothers Big Sisters flag football took place November 19th at Chinquapin Park in Alexandria, Virginia.  More than 10 matches attended and a great time was had by all. Here is a group of pictures from the game.

2005 BBBSNCA Holiday Party
The date for the 2005 Holiday Party is set for Saturday, December 3rd. Pizza, a talent competition, bowling, video games and more. The holiday party will be at the GWU Marvin Center in Washington DC.

George Mason Basketball Game on Saturday, January 7
Raj Thangavelu is a Big Brother in Prince William County. He is attending the GMU basketball game on January 7th with his Little and would like to encourage others to join them. Big League Umpiring Experience (BLUE) Goes National
In 2004, Major League Baseball umpire Marvin Hudson started a baseball initiative with NovaBigs aimed at strengthening mentor/youth match relationships. The program has evolved and now includes BBBS agencies across the United States.

It's a Saturday of food and fun when former Cafe Atlantico chefs Christy and Tom Przystawik step into your kitchen for a Food Matters Cooking Experience. Bigs and Littles will learn, laugh, and lunch together with two of our area's finest chefs.

The March NovaBigs Council Meeting took place at Ned Devines in Fairfax. Bigs trickled in the door for about an hour before we decided to wrap up the meeting and greeting and get down to business.

Bigs and Littles on a Mission to Mars
Fourteen matches successfully completed their mission to Mars! Of course, the mission was a simulation so no one actually set foot on Mars, but it was difficult to tell it was only a simulation if you were watching the Bigs and Littles as they attempted to complete the comprehensive mission safely.

USTA/Mid-Atlantic Section Serving It Up For Bigs and Littles
USTA/Mid-Atlantic Section and BBBSNCA have formed a partnership called Partner 2 Partner. Free tennis lessons are available through this program to multi-cultural matches but you have to act fast as the next training session begins March 19.

Inaugural Flag Football Turns Into "Mud Bowl"
If at first you don't succeed, try try again! This was the motto for Big Brothers David Talbird and Pat Hoar who organized a flag football game in December only to have it cancelled due to inclement weather. The second time around met again with rain but this time, the game went on as scheduled.
